Sometimes, aligning our actions with our intentions is challenging. Hypnosis is unique as a mind-body visualization experience. Research shows that hypnosis is a state of focused attention, which clients can direct toward specific goals. When you are ready to make a change, hypnosis may help.

How everyday actions start
46%Started by habit, aligned with intention
19%Started by habit, not aligned with intention
35%Started deliberately

Rebar, Gardner and colleagues, Psychology & Health, 2025. The 19% is calculated from the study’s reported 65% and 46%.

“For people who want to break their bad habits, simply telling them to ‘try harder’ isn’t enough.”

Professor Benjamin Gardner, University of Surrey, study co-author

“All our life, so far as it has definite form, is but a mass of habits.”

William James, American psychologist and philosopher, Talks to Teachers on Psychology (1899)

A personal plan, with support

Clients come in with many different goals, so the session work is custom-tailored. After our intro call, I develop a flexible plan of six 55-minute virtual sessions, based on our conversation, which can combine habit change with related goals such as stress relief. Before we begin sessions, and as we work together, I provide supplemental materials and support, including brief phone calls and texts. If you have a related medical diagnosis, or the change involves addiction recovery, the package includes coordinating with your primary care doctor or other medical professionals.
